Terms of Use
These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of the HCC Documentation Partners LLC website, training platform, educational materials, membership services, and related resources. By creating an account, purchasing a membership, or using our services, you agree to these Terms.
Educational Purpose
HCC Documentation Partners provides educational resources intended to help users develop practical skills related to documentation integrity, risk adjustment, coding review, auditing, and related professional workflows.
Training scenarios are simulations created for educational purposes. Patient information presented within simulated training cases is fictional and should not be interpreted as an actual patient record.
Training content is not a substitute for applicable laws, regulations, official coding guidelines, payer requirements, organizational policies, clinical judgment, or guidance from authoritative sources. Users remain responsible for independently verifying requirements applicable to their own work.
Professional Membership
The Professional Membership is currently offered as a recurring monthly subscription. The price displayed at checkout is the price applicable to the subscription at the time of purchase.
By purchasing a recurring subscription, you authorize the applicable payment processor to charge your selected payment method on a recurring basis until the subscription is canceled.
Membership features may include access to the Documentation Integrity Training Lab, simulated patient charts, training answers and explanations, documentation integrity resources, interview preparation materials, and additional training content made available to members.
Cancellation
You may cancel a recurring membership to prevent future renewal charges. Unless otherwise stated at the time of cancellation, cancellation stops future billing and does not automatically reverse charges that have already been processed.
Access following cancellation may remain available through the end of the applicable paid billing period, depending on the subscription status maintained by our payment and account systems.
Refunds
Because membership provides access to digital educational content and training resources, payments are generally non-refundable once access has been provided, except where a refund is required by applicable law or HCC Documentation Partners determines that a refund is appropriate under the circumstances.
If you believe you were charged in error, please contact us promptly so that the transaction can be reviewed.
Accounts and Access
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and security of your account credentials and for activity occurring through your account. You agree to provide accurate information when creating or maintaining an account.
Individual membership access is intended for the registered account holder and may not be shared, resold, transferred, or used to provide unauthorized access to another person.
Organization Access
Organizations seeking access for multiple users should contact HCC Documentation Partners regarding organization or team access. Individual memberships should not be used as a substitute for multi-user access.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to misuse the website or training platform, attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts or systems, interfere with website operations, circumvent access restrictions, or use the services for unlawful purposes.
No Real Patient Information
The Training Lab is intended for simulated educational use. Users must not enter, upload, copy, submit, or otherwise provide real patient information, protected health information (PHI), or confidential patient records within the Training Lab unless HCC Documentation Partners expressly provides a service designed and authorized for that purpose.
Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise stated, original training cases, simulations, educational materials, written explanations, workflows, graphics, website content, and other materials provided by HCC Documentation Partners are owned by or licensed to HCC Documentation Partners LLC and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
Membership provides a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to access the materials for individual educational and professional development purposes.
You may not reproduce, republish, distribute, sell, sublicense, publicly post, commercially exploit, or create a competing training product from substantial portions of our proprietary training materials without prior written permission.
No Guarantee of Employment, Certification, or Outcomes
HCC Documentation Partners does not guarantee employment, promotion, certification, examination success, increased compensation, reimbursement outcomes, audit outcomes, or any other professional or financial result from use of the training platform.
Training is designed to provide opportunities to practice skills and strengthen professional knowledge. Individual results will vary.
Content Updates
Healthcare coding, documentation, reimbursement, and regulatory guidance may change over time. We may revise, replace, add, or remove training content and platform features as the service develops.
Users are responsible for consulting current authoritative guidance when making decisions involving actual patients, claims, coding, documentation, reimbursement, or compliance matters.
Availability of Services
We work to maintain reliable access to our website and training services, but uninterrupted or error-free availability cannot be guaranteed. Temporary interruptions may occur because of maintenance, technical problems, security issues, service-provider outages, or other circumstances.
Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, HCC Documentation Partners LLC will not be responsible for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or similar damages arising from the use of or inability to use the website, training platform, or educational materials.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits rights or liabilities that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms as our services, membership offerings, or legal requirements change. Updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised effective date when appropriate.
